Description
The origin of these sarees dates back to 1630 AD. Legend has it that when the Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was traveling through the region, a few weavers from his retinue settled in Narayanpet. This resulted in a unique fusion: the vibrant color palettes of Maharashtra (like deep maroons, greens, and purples) mixed with South Indian weaving techniques.
